# **Lanarkshire AI Growth Zone**

## SCOTLAND'S FIRST OFFICIAL AI GROWTH ZONE

North Lanarkshire powered Britain's industrial revolution. Today a £8.2bn investment is building Scotland's sustainable AI future, creating 3,400 jobs and returning £543m to local communities.

## Three Pillars of the AI Growth Zone

### Data Centres

### Energy Parks

Our own renewable energy parks generate more power than we use.

Clean, affordable, and built right here in Scotland.

### AI Innovation Park

Where Scotland's AI talent is developed. Skills training, cutting-edge research, and support for homegrown startups.

## North Lanarkshire: Powering the Nation Once Again

The same communities that once powered Britain's industrial revolution are now positioned to lead its digital one. Different technology, same ambition.

- **Skilled workforce**- A region with a proud engineering heritage
- **Central belt location** - Between Glasgow and Edinburgh
- **Partner support** - Backed by UK Government, Scottish Government, and North Lanarkshire Council
- **Fibre connectivity** - Excellent fibre infrastructure

## The Greenest Grid in Britain. And We Go Further.

Location matters. Scotland's electricity grid is already the cleanest in Britain, up to 700% lower carbon than other UK regions. By adding our own 1GW+ of directly connected renewables, we're building data centres with a carbon footprint that's unmatchable anywhere else in the UK.

### Natural Cooling

Scotland's cooler climate means free air cooling for most of the year, reducing energy use and costs.

### Closed Loop Cooling

Our closed loop systems mean near-zero water consumption. No draining local water supplies.

### Sustainable Construction

Environmentally sourced materials and low-carbon methods throughout the build.

### Biodiversity

Creating new wildspace areas designed to support local wildlife and biodiversity.
